About the Retreat

An Invitation to Experience Japan

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Japan, where ancient temples, quiet mountain paths, seasonal beauty, and daily practice come together to create something far deeper than a vacation.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down, soften, and experience Japan through presence. Together, we’ll move through sacred places, gardens, forests, traditional villages, hot springs, and temples while allowing the rhythm of the land to guide us back to what is simple, spacious, and true.

This is not about rushing from place to place.
It is about being moved by beauty.
It is about remembering how travel can awaken us.
It is about letting Japan reveal itself slowly.

Journey Highlights

Read on for highlights and snapshots of our journey. Scroll down to book your spot.  Space is limited.

Negombo — Arrival & Soft Landing

Our journey begins in Negombo, where ocean breezes welcome us into the gentle cadence of island life.

Here we gather for:

  • A mindful welcome circle
  • Daily yoga and Yoga Nidra
  • Meditation by the sea
  • Time to rest and acclimate
  • Negombo offers a soft entry — an opportunity to exhale, ground, and arrive fully.

Kandy — Sacred Heart of Sri Lanka

From the coast, we travel inland to the sacred city of Kandy, nestled among lush hills.
In this spiritual center, devotion and stillness come alive.

Our days here include:

  • Visits to Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara
  • Pilgrimage to the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic
  • Forest monastery walks and hidden sanctuaries
  • Cultural encounters and artisan workshops
  • Daily yoga, meditation, and Yoga Nidra

There will be time for journaling, reflection, and integration — allowing the beauty of Sri Lanka’s sacred traditions to deepen your own inner listening.

Elephant Freedom Project — Compassion in Action

We will spend a day at the Elephant Freedom Project (Kegalle) — an ethical sanctuary where elephants live free from chains and riding. Here, we connect with these magnificent beings in a mindful, compassionate way — honoring their dignity and spirit.

This experience is not performance or spectacle — it is presence.

Bentota — Ocean & Integration

From the mountains, we journey back to the sea — to the turquoise waters of Bentota.
This is our time of surrender and flow.

In Bentota, we will:

  • Practice yoga by the ocean
  • Snorkel coral reefs
  • Explore mangrove rivers alive with birdsong
  • Enjoy Ayurvedic massage and ocean swims
  • Gather for integration circles
  • Close with a celebration under the stars

Bentota invites spaciousness — a soft unfolding and gentle completion.
